Aufgaben

About the Role

The Program Manager is responsible for the effective coordination of internal activities (engineering design, process tool & equipment implementation, financial management, achieving quality metrics, sales support, supplier selection & readiness). This position is also responsible for delivering customer facing activities (communication, escalation & change management) and facilitating leadership facing tasks (issue escalation, project status reporting) in accordance with Magna processes and procedures.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful, timely and high-quality launches through proper execution of all PM ASPICE activities. Understand, follow and support improvements to the Program Management processes, systems and tools. Support and adhere to policies, procedures and operational guidelines related to established quality management system.
  • Ensure that Program Management measurement (KPI's), monitoring and reports are created and presented to leadership on time.
  • Primary communication interface to the customer and extended team for program timing, status and escalations.
  • Ensure that your assigned team properly prepares and conducts recurring Gate/ Executive/ Corporate/ Customer review presentations. Prepare and communicate program status to management steering committee and escalation of critical issues.
  • Evaluate assigned programs for signs of delivery/ quality/ cost risk and implement required counteractions.
  • Communicate/ negotiate with customers/ suppliers in alignment with Sales and Purchasing.
  • Responsible for leading change request quotes including defining financial metrics, understanding the technical and manufacturing content, vetting alternative strategies, ensuring resource and technical feasibility, timing and integration of the change into the overall product line strategy.
  • Cohesively aligns with Global Product Managers, Product Engineering, and Sales by providing customer feedback on products and features as well as competitive information within their respective product group.
  • Coordinate/ monitor project documentation, timelines, technical performance. Maintain budget KPI's including expense/ tooling/ capital/ BOM. Initiate and support production & quality deliverables as well as corrective action initiatives where required.
  • Lead Change Management activities. This position will have a thorough understanding of the design, manufacturing and supplier concepts/ costs/ timing. Ensure change request due dates are met and that the approach is aligned with the product line goals.
  • Following a successful launch, manage Series Production phase activities including claims management, continuous improvement, VA/VE activities, and execution of ongoing price negotiations/ adjustments.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of PMO or project/program management experience within the automotive industry with a verifiable record of results is highly preferred.
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing plant role is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an automotive engineering role is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge/experience in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • Systematic, thorough, and structured working style.
  • Strong communication and data management skills.
  • Comfortable and capable of performing self-dependent work; identifies and resolves gaps and issues with minimal guidance from their manager.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the English language (spoken & written).

Your preferred qualifications

  • Alternately, Program Management experience in non-automotive areas is acceptable.
  • Knowledge of the German language is appreciated but not mandatory.
